The 3rd weekend, March 22-23rd Fort Bragg will have its Whale Fest with a Chowder, Beer and Wine tasting at the Gymnasium at City Hall. For tickets and more information please visit http://mendocinocoast.com/mendocino-whale-festival.
For an up-close whale watching experience there a several whale-watching boat tours that leave out of the Noyo Harbor, just a few miles north on Hwy 1. The Noyo Harbor tours with Captain Dan and All Aboard Adventures are great options to check out if you’re up for a closer view of the whales.
If you’d prefer to stay on dry ground while whale spotting, the Mendocino Headlands State park Western point is one of the best places to see them. Point Cabrillo Lighthouse and Mackerricher State Park are not far North and are well known to be great whale watching places.
March also brings the start of the 2020 Season of fabulous plays put on by talented local actors at Mendocino’s very own Theater. The first play of the season will be “The Cemetery Club” written by Ivan Menchell, directed by Bob Cohen, and will be running Thursday-Sunday March 5th-April 12th.
There are so many fun things to do in Mendocino, and March is the perfect time to come out to the Coast!
