February 14th is Valentine’s Day but Celebrate your love all month while taking advantage of our low winter rates, all while enjoying quality time with your Valentine.
There are many ways to make sweet memories together here in Mendocino. First, start with a stay with us, in one of our romantic rooms with a wood burning fireplace to snuggle up to, and then, get properly pampered with a gourmet breakfast served right to your door for a wonderful breakfast in bed.
We are lucky to be located within walking distance and short driving distance to some fun and romantic activities to do together. Mendocino village is an artist’s dream with postcard perfect views everywhere you look- stroll around the village and visit one our many art galleries together, most all art is made by local artists.
Take a hike together in Russian Gulch State Park, the hike to the waterfall is an invigorating and magical experience wandering through the Redwood trees. If you’re up for a fun adventure, right across Big River is Catch-A-Canoe and Bicycles too, where you not only rent canoes and bicycles, but they also have redwood outriggers- a special type of canoe that will not tip over, kayaks, and standup paddleboards, they also have guided tours on Big River.
A short drive North on HWY 1 will take you to the famous Mendocino Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens is a special place that is ever changing, blooming and growing; all year long there is something new or different to see. Take the walk out to the ocean bluffs for stunning ocean views only the Northern California coast can provide.
The Point Cabrillo Lighthouse is a destination for history lovers and nature lovers alike. The path down to the lighthouse is breathtaking with surrounding ocean views, be sure to stop in the homes of the former lighthouse keepers for a bit of a history lesson, and more learning of the Mendocino’s coast history can be found in the lighthouse itself.

If it’s a clear day, you may be in for a treat by catching the spectacular Mendocino sunset. Follow the path behind the Presbyterian Church down to Big River Beach for a nice Beach sunset viewing or hike out on one of the Mendocino Headland’s trails to watch the sun set together. Have a romantic dinner at the very popular and romantic Café Beaujolais. Trillium Café & Luna Trattoria are all great choices for a romantic evening within walking distance of the Inn.
